Stake Your Claim

The other day Fletcher and I went to my cousin's house for a birthday party. My cousin Ben, who is 6, and Fletcher had a very interesting conversation.

Ben: "Fletcher where is your ring?"

Fletcher: "Only the girl wears the ring until they get married."

Ben: "Why?"

Fletcher: "So you can stake your claim, that way no one will take her."

Ben: "What?"

Fletcher: "You know, like when you lick a cookie so know one else will eat it?"

Ben (looking at Fletcher with disgust): "No."

Then Ben walked away. 

I laughed so hard.
